The Audio-Technica ATR2100X-LT Cardioid Dynamic XLR Microphone offers a versatile and high-quality audio solution for your recording needs. This microphone is designed with a cardioid polar pattern, which means it focuses on sound sources in front of it, reducing unwanted background noise for clearer recordings.
The ATR2100X-LT features a large diaphragm that delivers a rich, full-bodied sound ideal for both music and speech. It also boasts a unique design that offers the convenience of both USB and XLR outputs. While this description specifically mentions the XLR version, it's worth noting that the USB output is available in other models.
The microphone comes with a built-in headphone jack that allows for real-time monitoring with 0-latency direct monitoring, ensuring that you can accurately hear your voice and make adjustments on the fly. The ATR2100X-LT also includes a convenient on/off switch and a high-quality stand mount.
This microphone is a popular choice for podcasters, vocalists, and content creators alike due to its excellent sound quality, versatility, and durable construction. Whether you're recording a podcast, singing a song, or voiceover work, the Audio-Technica ATR2100X-LT Cardioid Dynamic XLR Microphone will provide you with the professional sound you need to impress your audience.
The Audio-Technica ATR2100 Cardioid Dynamic XLR Microphone offers several advantages:1. **Quality Sound**: Known for its high-quality sound, this microphone delivers clear and powerful vocal reproduction. It's ideal for podcasting, home studio recording, and voiceovers.
2. **Dual Mode Operation**: The microphone can operate in both cardioid and omnidirectional pickup patterns, giving you flexibility based on your recording environment and needs.
3. **Built-in Headphone Jack**: The built-in headphone jack allows for real-time monitoring of your input with an easy-to-use level control. This feature is useful for fine-tuning your recordings.
4. **XLR Output**: An XLR output ensures a robust and reliable connection to your audio interface, mixer, or recording device.
However, there are also some potential drawbacks:1. **Requires External Power**: Unlike USB microphones, the ATR2100 requires an external power source, which might add to your setup cost and complexity.
2. **Additional Equipment Needed**: Since it doesn't come with a preamp or audio interface, you'll need to purchase these separately if you don't already have them.
3. **No Computer Connectivity**: As it doesn't have a USB output, it cannot be directly connected to a computer, which might be inconvenient for some users.
In conclusion, the Audio-Technica ATR2100 Cardioid Dynamic XLR Microphone is a great choice for those seeking high-quality sound and flexibility in their recordings. However, it's important to consider the additional equipment and setup requirements before making a purchase. If you already have an XLR audio interface or mixer, and you're willing to invest in an external power source, this microphone could be a valuable addition to your setup. If you prefer a more straightforward, plug-and-play solution, you might want to consider a USB microphone instead.
Sounds great, mic switch works. Audio-Technica ATR2100-Cardioid Dynamic XLR Only Microphone-NO USB, let's get the bad news out of way first. I cannot validate if the headphone out and volume works so you are best using mic on your pro Audio interface, like Mot, RME Focus rite, etc. Cosmetically, aside from that, I would say it is in good condition physically with some minor scuffs and scratches which tried to capture the photos.
BUT, the Good news is XLR works perfectly and I just double checked it with my friend his Mot interface. So no USB on this mic. Any interface with an XLR input should work just fine. I used this a few times on my desktop and it works great.
My son then borrowed it for several months until he pushed the USB cable in so forcefully that broke connection on PC board inside mic. Technically this is the AT model ATR21000 USB, consistently ranked as one of best budget mics on market. After doing some research it seems that the USB board connection is a weak point of this mic. I took it apart and removed so now you see only the hole, no connector.
Remember the USB does not work So it is priced CHEAP. Includes Mic, XLR cable, Tripod, mic holder, and manual.
