In x y bellmen pair fig 8 pattern, the sound stage was three dimensional, with very specific images and a large hall sound. The switches are on microphone body. I recently used this stereo microphone to record a wind ensemble, and the results were very good.

When set to cardioid, the ensemble appears closer, with richer bass. I did not try as an omni. Has a high pass filter and multiple pickup patterns for both upper lower microphones. It has a nice presence, good for wood winds, vocals, strings, and the usual attributes of large capsule condenser mic.
