It is very difficult to find these mics as they were considered boutique at one time. You'll hear clearer, less boxy and more detailed sound with accurate transient response hallmarks of the classic AKG C12 itself a single layer head basket design. The original box has the foam insert too, to ensure safe shipping. The new, replacement head basket increases open area to reduce internal reflections and coloration.

The stock, two-layer cylindrical head basket is ridden with cloudy standing wave coloration. Classic sound is within reach.
